Sea Plane Guidance

Sea planes often land on the lake in front of the home, generally anywhere between Mallets Bay, Thayer Beach, The Fill, and the Causeway/Sand Bar.

Lake Champlain hosts several seaplane bases, primarily designated for private use. The closest to the property is

Malletts Head Seaplane Base (VT57)

  • Location: Colchester, Vermont
  • Coordinates: Latitude 44.5606003, Longitude -73.2404022
  • Runway: Water runway 12W/30W, measuring 3,000 x 2,000 feet
  • Ownership: Privately owned by R. William Hazelett
  • Usage: Private use; prior permission required before landing
